Expect nothing, but the best from Peter Langner and it showed on the runway during New York Bridal Week. I mean what can you expect from gowns designed and made in such an influential city like Milan? It is amazing how simply elegant his gowns were. Nothing was overdone because that can often be a problem with bridal gowns. You don’t want to look like you are trying too hard. Elegance needs to come naturally. The bridal collection is said to be based on a feeling and spirit rather than a theme and I felt this to be true as the whole ambiance from music to choice of venue at the 3 West Club perfectly aligned with the sophistication of the gowns. It was truly a grand afternoon at a grand ballroom. The detailing on each gown was a masterpiece on its own. The woven beads and asymmetric shapes transformed the collection into a work of art. The collection itself was actually inspired by Alberto Burri’s exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Peter Langner is definitely a designer to watch out for. If you missed the show, don’t sweat because we have some shots below! Enjoy!
